Negotiation Notes

We want to thank the 1035 members of the teachers bargaining unit for completing and submitting the 2007-2009 Negotiations survey between January 10-24, 2007.  Your willingness to share your thoughts and comments will assist us as we prepare this years Interests and Priorities.  We are sharing with you the tabulated results of our survey so that each of you can see the results of this survey.  It is clear to us that Salaries and Health Insurance costs are clearly the top priorities with language items also sharing an important place in this round of negotiations.

We also want to thank the 286 members that also shared comments with us on this survey.  Your additional 22 pages of comments give us a deeper insight into what is important to you.  In later Negotiation Notes we will be sharing with you some of these comments and addressing issues that were brought to our attention.

Our first formal negotiations session will be a joint training session conducted by the Minnesota Bureau of Mediations Services.  This meeting will take place at the Union office on Thursday, February 28th.
